The Aamir Khan film Dangal has reached the 300 crore club. It has achieved what other film in the history of Hindi cinema has done enter the Rs.300 Crore Club inside a fortnight. With Rs.9.5 crore on the 13th day Dangal has entered the history books with a total collection of Rs. 304.64 crore at the domestic box office. With this Dangal has also managed to surpass the Salman Khan film Sultan’s lifetime box office collection of Rs 300.34 crore as well.
In Bollywood Salman Khan and Aamir Khan dominate the Rs 300 cr club! So far in Bollywood only four films have managed to enter the Rs.300 Crore Club. For Aamir Khan, this is now his second back to back Rs300 crore plus film. His last film PK scored Rs.339.50 crore life time collection at the box office. Salman Khan too has two films in the Rs 300 crore plus club Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan both are Rs.300 crore plus films. The question is will Shah Rukh Khan follow suit, a lot now rides on his forthcoming film Raees.
|Actors Name||Films Name||Collection in Crore|
|Aamir Khan||P K||339.50|
|Salman Khan||Bajrangi Bhaijaan||320.34|
|Aamir Khan||Dangal||304.64 *|
What are the factors that can help Shahrukh Khan join the Rs.300 crore club for one Shahrukh Khan’s Raees To begin with SRK’s film Raees which releases on the 25th Wednesday has 26th a national holiday followed by a nice long weekend. Also Raees has no competition for 2 weeks after release of the film. The next big film up for release is on the 10th of February Akshay Kumar’s Jolly LLB 2. Raees also marks the return of Shah Rukh Khan playing a negative role after 6 years. The last he did this was for after Don 2 , that coupled with the fat that the film is loosely based on a true story makes for added curiosity for the audience.
On the down side the Shahrukh Khan film Raees shares its release with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil so there is competition as Raees will have to share screen space with Kaabil which in itself will cut the cake available to Raees in half. Even though Raees is bound to release in over 2500 screens it will be way below the screen count of Aamir Khan’s super hit film Dangal which released in 4300 plus screens all over India.
As far the Raees trailer and music go so far the film has got rave reviews from fans and critics alike. That rave has to translate at the box office on the 25th of Jan.
