We always like to know who is earning the most money in Bollywood. Salman is the name, at the top of the list of Bollywood top tax payers for this year. The Tubelight star who had a fantastic 2016 has beaten his contemporaries like Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan, to become the highest advance taxpayer for the financial year 2016-17.
In 2016 Salman Khan gave us the blockbuster hit Sultan (2016) which earned over Rs 500 crore worldwide, he also was the anchor of the very popular game show Bigg Boss. This plus his endorsements and event earnings have placed him in an income bracket to pay Rs 44.5 crore as advance tax for the year. With this Khan's annual income is estimated to have grown 39 per cent in the last year.
According to an income tax report collected from data of the advance tax paid by top 10 industry folk till March 2017 Salman Khan has paid an advance tax of Rs 44.50 crores compared to Rs 32 crores last year. Akshay Kumar who had 3 big releases in 2016 Airlift Rustom and Houseful 3 is the second highest tax payer with Rs 29.50 crores this is bit less than the previous year payment of Rs 30 crores. Among actresses, Deepika Padukone paid an advance tax of Rs.10.25 crores, Alia Bhatt comes in second paid 4.33 crores.

In this list there are two names conspicuous by their absence Shahrukh Khan and Amitbah Bachchan . We are sure they will file before the end of the financial year on 31st March and enter the list. That apart the biggest surprise in the Advance Tax List comes with the entry of comedian turned actor Kapil Sharma who reportedly paid an advance tax of 23.90 crores which is 241% up from 7 crores which he paid last year. No real surprises in this list of Bollywood highest tax payers for 2016
