Deepika Padukone performed the Ganga aarti alongside Swami Chidananda Saraswati with her mother in Rishikesh on Monday. Earlier Swami Chidananda Saraswati of the Parmartha Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh welcomed the Piku actress with a rudraksha mala as is the tradition. Deepika attended the aarti dressed simply in white kurta and pants and had a shawl wrapped around her. Beside her is her mother Ujjala Padukone and other relatives and friends who flew in along with the actor to perform the evening aarti on the banks of the Ganga. Deepika Padukone who is known to be religious visits Mumbai's Siddhivinayak Temple ahead of the release of her films, however this is the first time that the actress has flown into Rishikesh to be present at an evening aarti. The occasion too is auspicious as this is the evening aarti for mahashivratri a large festival and an occasion for celebration at the Ashram.
On the work front Deepika Padukone will be seen next in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next magnum opus Padmavati, the shooting of which is in progress after being stalled on two occasions. Earlier this year Deepika made her Hollywood debut in xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage. Besides Padmavati will make a special appearance in Dinesh Vijan's Raabta, which stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon.
As is customary we are sure that Deepika Padukone made a wish on the banks of the holy river Ganga was it for work or love or both we wonder.
