In its second weekend at the box office Varun Dhawan Alia Bhatt starrer Badrinath ki Dulhania has crossed Rs. 90 crore at the box-office and is still climbing while the audience ignored Machine, Aa Gaya Hero and Trapped
Badrinath ki Dulhania collected Rs15 crore plus in its second weekend at the box-office and to end a 10 day box office collection at Rs.90.77 crore. The Karan Johar produced Shashank Khaitan directed film will now easily enter the 100 crore club in the next few days. Badrinath ki Dulhania is not setting its sights on film the lifetime collections of the Akshay Kumar film Jolly LLB 2 that raked in Rs.117 crore at the box office. This Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt film should be able to make it to this mark comfortably as it doesn’t have any competition in the current week. Next week too it is up against Anushka Sharma Diljit Dosanjh’s Phillauri so the Rs. 117 mark is certainly doable.
On a different note the three new releases for this week had a dismal opening weekend at the box office Collections for the Govinda, comeback film Aa Gaya Hero the audience clearly does not fancy him any more at least in his attest avatar. The Mustafa Burmawala Kiara Advani film Machine too opened low, even lower than even Mirzya which had an opening day of Rs. 1.75 crore. Rajkummar Rao’s Trapped which got all the critical acclaim was not able to attract the crowds at the cinema, it’s box office collection for the first weekend is around the Rs. 1 crore mark
Badrinath ki Dulhania therefore the crowning glory of the box office as the Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt film maintains pace in collections in its second week and has already clocked past its lifetime collection projection of Rs.90 crore.
